Biomass CHP

    • Development of dedicated biomass fueled Combined Heat and Power generation asset located at the Nehoiu Forestry Complex
    • GDFSuez Tractebel has conducted an initial project feasibility study which, in the next stage of development will be expanded to incorporate specific feedstock and technology assessment
    • 5 MW electric capacity which will be consumed onsite by the pellet and timber mills
    • The project will qualify for an allocation of Green Certificates under the Romanian renewable energy subsidy scheme
    • Steam/heat will be utilized in the wood drying process, improving efficiency and reducing costs of production


  • The 45MW MIHAESTI Solar Project has concluded its permitting process after receiving the final ATR, which renders the project “shovel ready”
  • The Mihaesti project is estimated to be the largest single site solar project in South Eastern Europe currently under development
  • A comprehensive technical and economic feasibility study has been developed in conjunction with ENERPARC AG, Germany’s and Europe’s leading solar EPC contractor

Energy crop development

  • Preparation of plan for energy crop plantations on acquired agricultural and forestry land
  • Deployment of fast rotation species: willow, poplar, miscanthus etc.
  • Intention of capturing higher subsidy levels for energy crop power generation
