AGI Capital and EKF drive European wood pellet production
AGI Capital Investment SRL has been working in conjunction with EKF, the Danish Export Credit Agency, to deliver the latest instalment of EU based wood pellet production capacity which will come online towards the end of this year. AGI Capital has recently successfully concluded a long term wood pellet supply agreement for its full production capacity of 140,000mt with a leading European generator and as such becomes the largest exporter of wood pellets in the Black Sea region.
AGI had chosen to source the two 70,000mt pellet lines from Denmark, a decision significantly driven by the financing guarantee support from EKF. Furthermore, the company continues to work closely with Danish engineers and consultants in ensuring the delivery of a top class production facility and a high quality pellet. The involvement of EKF in this venture and its cooperation with AGI Capital, emphasises the agency’s focus on expanding the Danish support for renewable generation, which of course is a major contributor to the achievement of the EU’s 2020 greenhouse gas reduction targets. AGI Capital has also ensured adherence to EKF’s sustainability requirements through the attainment of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for the feedstock and the Nehoiu Forestry Complex production site.
