Forestry

Forestry is the cornerstone of our business. Our forests are the starting point of our value chain and as such we aim not only to harvest but cultivate and sustainably manage them. The continuity of AGI’s business depends on our forests and as such AGI has embarked on a forest acquisition plan aiming to capture in excess of 20,000 hectares of Carpathian forests within a 70km radius of Nehoiu Foresty Complex.

Our forests and those of our partners and key suppliers predominantly consist of beech and spruce stands. We know the origin of all our wood and we implement a comprehensive traceability system, including the tagging of all our trees. Our forests are ethically and sustainably managed, strictly adhering to Romania’s forestry management guidelines and AGI’s own forest management plans, created with a wide range of stakeholders.
Furthermore AGI has secured FSC certification on its production facilities at Nehoiu Foresty Complex.

We know where our wood comes from

We maintain a full chain of custody on all our wood products and fibre supplied by third parties, ensuring that wood from third party sources is controlled through our rigorous contractual terms. AGI manages its forests in an efficient, responsible, economical and environmental way.
We strive for all our forests to be certified and have begun the process of conducting a full chain of custody sustainability assessment with independent internationally recognised bodies.
