Forestry

Forestry is AGI’s core business which provides the basis for all our products and commercial activity. We engage in the acquisition, management and sustainable regeneration of hardwood and softwood forestry in the Carpathian region of Nehoiu. We believe in commercial rewards derived from forestry investments and cultivated through local relationships and community involvement.

Biomass

AGI Wood Pellets are produced from high quality hardwood and softwood logs, and from residual wood products such tree tops, branches, and other by-products of primary biomass and timber production. Our operations have a strict consideration for quality, safety and above all sustainability in the harvesting, production and logistics process. AGI pellets are specified for the industrial, renewable energy and domestic heating markets, with comprehensive control and ownership of the full supply chain.

Timbering

AGI is implementing the programme of installation of one of Europe’s most modern timbering production lines, processing 65,000 m3/year of Beech, Spruce and Pine lumber to the highest industry standard. At the same time adhering to strict sustainability practices and reaching a diverse international market.

Renewable Power Generation

AGI has developed the largest single site solar PV project, Mihaesti Solar Project, which after being granted all relevant permits is “shovel ready” and awaiting the start of construction. Additionally, AGI is in the planning stage of the development of a 5MW renewable combined heat and power plant, with GDF Suez Tractebel appointed to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study. The plant will be located at the Nehoiu Forestry Complex and will be a source of carbon neutral and sustainable heat and power for the plant and local town.
